The old man was turning 70 so off we went en masse to Turkey to celebrate his birthday in the sun! 6 adults, 1 child, 2 infants and a very VERY early start.
Our first family crisis was that little Fifi’s passport was due to expire and didn’t have enough months to enter Turkey. Fortunately a very helpful airport person took control and we were all good to travel!
The flight was good, Miss Molly slept for an hour (shame we didn’t) and we soon arrived at the amazing Barut Lara hotel. It really is a 5* residence. We had 3 super large rooms with a fab view from our balcony. There were some really nice touches, arrival drinks, baby toiletries, bib, portable changing mat etc etc. Definitely child and baby friendly!!
We went for a recce to try and get our bearings as the hotel grounds are huge.
There are 3 large outdoor pools plus flumes, and a salt water heated indoor pool. We took my go pro away with us to finally test it out and got some great underwater snaps and videos of us fluming and Molly swimming.
There is an incredible array of restaurant options and it is impossible to go hungry! This was my third time at an all inclusive resort and I forgot how much food and drink is on offer. Yum yum! No complaints from us. On the food/drink note I really have to comment and how wonderful all of the staff are at the hotel. Kind, generous, funny, helpful, hardworking the list is endless! One of the waiters made marcus’ holiday by telling him he looked like Bradley cooper from America Sniper with his new sabbatical beard 😉
The kids activities and designated areas were incredible! Fifi loved the kids club and we loved seeing her get up on stage in the evening to dance and collect her certificates. Penelope and Molly also joined her for a boogie! Although Molly was too young to stay in the kids club solo (you have to be over 4yrs old) we were allowed to take her in and enjoy the facilities. There were loads of swings, slides, climbing frames and an enclosed soft play area – she (and daddy) were in heaven!!
As we were on holiday with the famille we were able to leave Molly and relax in the spa which was very much needed! As well as this we tried some activities, Marcus played football a couple of times, I tried Pilates and we both tried our best at archery and air rifle shooting! With the flumes as well we are now fully prepared for our trip to Centre Parcs in a couple of weeks!
We feel so lucky and privileged to have spent a whole week with the family. I really hope my dad had a super birthday. We have never seen Molly so happy, especially when she was hanging out with her cousins. She’s learnt so much in a week, blowing kisses, giving out more cuddles, dancing, recognition of animals and eating skills!! Thank you so much for a lovely time x
